The Running Scared EP

 The Bomb EP

If Thomas Jefferson were alive today
He'd view record companies with dismay.

If Thomas Paine were here he'd say
Expose the evil of the RIAA.

And if Samuel Adams were to join the fray...
He'd dump the CDs in the Bay.

Say it loud and let 'em know...
The Big Five labels have got to go!

"Are you tired of hearing news about the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA, hereafter) suing 12-year-old children for downloading music? If so, there is a band that you should check out. Fitehouse"

Running Scared was released under the Fitehouse General Public Music license. The FGPML is an open source license, meaning that we are encouraging individuals to copy, modify and build upon "Running Scared" by making its "source code" (that is, the raw instrumental and vocal tracks) readily available. The Fitehouse GPML is similar to the Creative Commons License, however the FGPML also requires the musician to make their raw tracks available to other artists.

The Bomb: Postcard #12

"Fitehouse drops the bomb!"

Say adios to the Recording Industry’s reign of mediocrity, cuz Fitehouse is droppin’ the bomb!

Inspired by the ideals of the founding fathers and the spirit of Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Revolution will not be Televised,” Fitehouse announces its anti-industry anthem “Running Scared.” It’s time to spread the truth about the RIAA’s grip on our culture and what better way than through free & independent music. That’s right, free! We’re making history yet again by releasing the tune under the terms of a modified GNU public license. Say hello to open source music baby! Play the song, copy it, modify it, heck, charge for it -- as long as you make your source files (raw tracks) available and your version carries the same license.

Of course, Fitehouse is not merely a destructive force; we are here to help rebuild a more organic, RIAA-free future. To demonstrate the promise of a post-record-label-world, Fitehouse is releasing “All These Things,” an example of the fine, organic pop/rock music that is possible with no middle-man interference! The record labels are becoming obsolete and that’s exactly why they’re running scared!

Jeepers. I’ve personally signed close to 21,000 postcards! Now its time for you to do your part! You will soon receive your instructions (our final press release) in the mail.

ppp...ppp...pthat's all pfolks!
