"The Discouraged Listener Index is one of the most incendiary and revolutionary concepts to come down the pike in a long time. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that no one in the Industry thought of it before."

- Bob Burke, Director of Social Sciences and History, Enoch Pratt Free Library, Baltimore, MD

The "Rebuilding the Glory of Rock" Campaign

This was Fitehouse's very first propaganda campaign. It was as much of an effort to orient the masses toward the task of increasing the production of quality rock-n-roll goods and services, as it was a campaign to convince ourselves that we did the right thing in quitting our jobs to join a rock band. Indeed, at the time, Josh, the band's Minister of Propaganda, went as far as to write an economic treatise to justify his new lifestyle. Entitled "The New Economic Reality of the 21st Century: The Benefits of Early Retirement, Hoarding and the Public Library System," it is available here as a pdf download.
