The Music of Fitehouse

Described by some as superannuated soul rock, we think it's just good music. There's lot's of variety in the songs, but they all share an emphasis on strong melody and harmonic color. But in the end you need be the judge, so go ahead and download the tunes. You even have our blessing to put them on a filing sharing system!

"This band isn’t just about marketing and promotional blitzes; they have musical talent to back them up. Their music is catchy and has meaning."

- Michelle Larabee, Features Editor, PVCC Spectrum,
Kansas City, MO

"Fitehouse has matered the technique of getting stuck in your hear. ...The lyrcs are fun and pretty angst-free, making for an all-around pleasant listen. In short, these guys have found a winning formula that will likely appeal to a wide audience."

- Courtney Rice, Staff Writer, Johns Hopkins Newsletter, Baltimore, MD

"One moment Fitehouse seems pretty laid-back, folkish and acoustic. Then, all of the sudden, there’s a wailing guitar, funk-flavored beat and wailing from singer Gabe Gilligan. Why such swings in mood? Well, it seems that Fitehouse is a band highly influenced by almost every aspect of ‘60s music, from the psychedelic blues raunchiness, to the hushed folk protests to the smooth Doobie Brothers jams. But don’t think that Fitehouse is out of control, or anything. The playing style of each member adds a defining element to the sound. ...the lyrics are intently formed, often telling stories of the American experience with a sense of days long past."

- Matt Greenwald, Writer, Urban Tulsa Weekly, Tulsa, OK
